About JC Stagestop

Located on the site that was originally the first Wyoming stop of the Deadwood, South Dakota to Miles City, Montana stagecoach – If these roads could talk, they’d sure have some stories to tell.

Experience peaceful sunrises and relaxing sunsets. Bring your horse as well as your friends and family! With 1500 acres of state land adjoining our property and access to another 3000 acres nearby, you’ll have hours of fun exploring the Black Hills of Wyoming via hiking or horseback. Traverse the rimrock, wind through the tall pines, and trail across the expansive grass prairie – the adventures are endless.

Places to stay include the Bunk House, Ranch House, Cabins, Tent sites, and RV/LQ hookups. Options for anyone who wants to come for an overnight or as your main vacation destination. Private retreat after you explore Devils Tower or Spearfish Canyon, our guests commonly remark how peaceful and beautiful it is here in the Wyoming Black Hills.

The “JC” in JC Stage Stop is from the original owners, Jeff & Cheryl Plucker. Steven and Liz purchased the business in 2021.

About the Owners:

Steven is a born and raised Black Hills native with extensive carpentry knowledge and mechanical know-how. He is currently a commercial construction superintendent by day, the resort business developer in his spare moments.

Liz moved to the area in 2007 and is a veterinarian for horses, dogs, and cats, in Belle Fourche, SD; her role at the Stage Stop is reservations and book-keeping.

Our children, Everly (7) and Owen (2), are already enjoying all the room to roam and meeting all the wonderful people that have come to visit us since we have moved in JC Stage Stop is such a beautiful place that we are excited to share it with everyone!
